Group training is back!

Jenny Zaremba

Great news today – group sessions are back with a bang!

The first of four run technique sessions. Today was all about running technique for uneven and unpredictable terrain. The athletes worked on fast feet and use of focal point/peripheral vision with ladder drills and then took that into single-track with overhanging branches and lots of tree roots. And from there into muddy and uneven terrain to practice:

  1. picking the fastest and safest route, through looking ahead and choosing the best line
  2. high knees to keep making good progress and get over obstacles
  3. keeping centre-of-gravity low to be able to manage small changes in direction
  4. high cadence to be able to manage slips and mini-trips

A great time in nature with the sunshine on our faces and in the company of others after such a long period of isolation.
